17 Alfred St. Storefront, Biddeford, ME
The project at 17 Alfred St. in historic downtown Biddeford, ME was an interesting, challenging and rewarding job. The job consisted of a creative owner/general contractor who used historic tax credits to help aid in the restoration of the the downtown property. Hoagland Restoration's role was to interpret the small remaining evidence of the historic fabric and use those clues to build three storefronts to match both those clues and the old photographs provided. The work included re-framing the exterior walls and window frames, building new paneling, rebuilding small roof, building four historically accurate entry doors, and connecting all existing trim including quoins, brackets and crown moulding.
